Very Good Friday
We had set the bar pretty high yesterday and had enjoyed a great day together, I had even finished the day with a cracking night’s sleep.
In recent visits and due to the constraints of the past couple of years, we have tended to stay around the house, but with the weather being so glorious once more, I rallied the troops and the four of us headed over to Maldon for a walk along the prom.
On the way, we made a quick stop at my parents old house, which The Eldest remembered clearly, M’boy less so and The Youngest not at all. It was a nice literal drive down memory lane where this small chapel (extra) still endures the test of time. I noted that it was now designated a nature reserve
On arrival in Maldon, we found the guy in the main first (Byrhtnoth – I may have blipped him before) and in the short time we had before someone else came by, I was trying to get the sun at the tip of his sword, but couldn’t quite manage it so this will have to do.
We mooched along the prom before a President Teddy video shoot at the local playground and then ice creams with flakes and at a look at some boats. Before long we headed home to be greeted by a roast lamb dinner (delicious) followed by a homemade smarties cheesecake (also delicious).
The afternoon was spent in easter egg hunts and playing and dog walks and cuddles and just all-round wholesome family fun times in the sun.
It is so nice to feel so relaxed.
Happy Easter!
