Beautiful evening

After we took the children home we came back through St Peter Port. The light on the two Herm boats resting for the night looked lovely.

Herm is three miles from Guernsey but the tide can race between the islands and it can get rough. These two ferries were built especially to handle this journey and take the ground on a low tide if needed. They have maximum time to manage to use the Herm Harbour. When the tide is too low there they go to another landing point at Rosaire steps where the water is much deeper.
