Sleepy Forest Cottages, Big Bear

Today we travelled north from San Diego to Big Bear which is in the mountains east of Los Angeles. At around 7000 feet above sea level it was quite a transition in 3 hours from sea level.

The first 100 miles were covered in even time, the last 40 climbed over 6000 feet. Dull and cloudy on the ascent the sky cleared and it was sunny, crisp but cool just over the summit.

The cabin is very nice, warm and secluded. A good find. Going to walk some trails tomorrow. Will not be able to post for the next few days unless I use the iPod.
