The Old Ways
The title of a book by Robert MacFarlane, one of my favourite authors. This particular book explores to old way and byways of the country giving their history and background.
This is the old way into Thornham Friars from Aldington Lane. We’ve walked this way many times and I’ve taken many shots and not used them. Today is the day.
Thornham Friars still exists, it exchanged hands in recent years for over £1.75 million. It’s a substantial, 17th-century, timber-framed Sussex house and barn alongside a modest Kentish house that already existed on the site. So now you know.
We had our first rehearsal of the New Marmite Ukulele Band this morning, we have two sessions at a Pink Concert in Canterbury on 26th June. This will be my first public performance with any band. Enjoyed it very much this morning. Lots of practice to do and a couple more rehearsals before the big day.
