Garden envy

I have been admiring this allotment for years; I used to pass it on the way to my own more disheveled plot. This time of year I feel garden envy. Although it is good to recognise when you need to stop.

I took some reference photos of the cherry trees this morning and then D and I sat in the communal garden and finished Emerson’s ‘Self Reliance.’ We enjoyed watching the little birds going in and out of a bird box high in a tree.

I’ve spent the rest of the day on the refugee project. It has turned out to be a much bigger job than anyone expected, but it is enjoyable.
