Unexpected Visitors

Leave it to MrsP to find three turkey vultures roosting in a couple of trees near the house this morning. I gingerly stepped outside with my camera not wanting to disturb them. They could have cared less! Curious as to why they were here I walked along the edge of our property, then up and down the road, both sides, even passing directly below one vulture. There were no animal carcasses in sight, nor could I smell anything! The three amigos flew away at some point when we weren’t looking • They’re known as aerial bloodhounds for their keen sense of smell, with the ability to smell carrion more than a mile away • A drizzly cool day but we were able to get a few things done outside.
