Rows of boats!

Spotted these on my hike/run today, up and out the door by 6:30am knowing I needed to be back to leave for an early football kick off!!

I headed out to run by the river idle, instead of turning to make my smaller loop, I headed out and continued along the river and looped around to the Chesterfield Canal.

These boats were moored on the canal and all the residents appeared to be sleeping as I snuck on by!! I saw someone on a canoe, and a few dog walkers but mostly it was lovely and solitary.

Then onto the football with Rotherham the first of the top three in league one to play, a chance to put Tuesday and the losing streak right, a chance to go second again, even if only briefly depending on other results. A chance to put the wheels back on the promotion bus.

With changes made and our strong, fast defence back, we started much better but still seemed nervous, and half time was 0-0.
Second half we looked like ourselves again, passing the ball, creating chances, and finally we scored Michael Smith finding the back of the net!!! We continued brightly and saw out the 9 minutes of injury time. First result done!

Next up was Wigan I didn’t watch this as I had other bits to do and I was more concerned about the MK dons game, but I was very happy to see them losing 2-0, and even though they pulled one back it was nice to see them slip up!! Another result our way!!

Then onto the fake Dons, they were playing the piggies, (Sheff Wednesday) this was a tough one as we needed our rivals to win, as they want playoff places they needed the win too!! And they got it a goal every ten minutes in the first half saw the piggies go in leading at half time 3-1. Even though fake dons scored a superb free kick in injury time they luckily couldn’t get the job done.

So after a rubbish run of results, thinking we’d blown autos we are back in the driving seat in second with the automatics back in our hands!! Now for the same level of performance from our men for the last 4 games!!

Football is a funny old sport and being a Miller is a roller coaster ride!
