Here and There

I took this photo on my iPhone at the Austin airport this afternoon, just before I saw on one of the many TV screens throughout the terminal the shocking news about the explosions at the Boston Marathon. After three busy days of extended family togetherness, this tragedy seemed even more appalling.

It's 9:45pm here in Seattle -- 11:45 in Austin -- and my flight to Bellingham leaves 90 minutes from now, arriving there just before midnight. I'm very tired, but looking forward to being home.
