Heaphy Track

The Heaphy Track is one of New Zealand's so called, "great walks". Here at Kowhaihai the track ends, or begins depending on your perspective. This stretch of the track is widely regarded as the most beautiful as well, taking in sweeping views of the coast like this under the nikua palms. So redolent of the south Pacific.

I hiked about 20 km in staying at a hut for the night on the Heaphy River. It was a wonderful day.
