Along the Don

An afternoon walk along the River Don, through Beeley Woods. Richard gets very bad hay fever, so usually I go on springtime woodland walks without him.  But today we fancied getting out for a leg stretch together.

The wood anemones were looking good (see extra). But the catch of the day was this lad, swinging out high above the river. We'd noticed the rope dangling from an improbably high branch on previous visits, but today was the first time we'd seen it in action. He and his sister were having a whale of a time, as their Dad pulled them back in turns, releasing them to swing right across the river and back.
The news from Greece about Giannis' recovery from his heart operation is still cautiously optimistic. He'll be in hospital for another week at least.
