Other side of the river

What you see in today's blip is private property belonging to a sand and gravel company on the other side of the river from the park. Their machinery is a small boy's dream-come-true: trucks, steam shovels, backhoes, and graders, industriously digging up the dirt, pushing it around, chugging, clunking, and roaring. I seldom walk this particular trail because of those machines. I wonder if the gull sitting on the rock in the middle of the river is as offended as I am by this mechanical invasion?
