Speckled Wood
I left JJ at home working "in" the wardrobe and set up onto the ridge, down past the old station house and along the disused railway line. Lots of people around in the valley but quiet where I was walking.
Lots of bird life recorded. Yellowhammers, a Yellow Wagtail, chaffinches, chiffchaffs, skylarks and my first Whitethroat of the year. Heard but not seen. Lots of butterflies too and thought this speckled wood was nicely positioned on the hawthorn.
Left onto the road for a quarter of a mile and they down across a recently planted field before striking for home along the fields adjacent to the Northampton road. Suitable knackered.
Roast beef and Yorkshire pudding today by way of an Easter treat.
