SSSCREEEEOW

Once again my Blip is chaos today. So I have to revert to a photo of creativity from someone else. Believe it or not this is quite a large painting. It's wider than the double bed it hangs over in my bedroom. I bought it for about $250 at a charity auction put on by creatives from the advertising industry. I thought it was a steal. Probably because everyone else thought it was ghastly.

It is not likely to be everyone's cup of tea for hanging over the bed but I like it's Mambo ish style. I also have a beach house on an island that we have to fly to regularly so it is kind of weird that I might want to look at this on a regular basis.

I am not sure of the full accurate story behind this but it was crafted by an Art Director during a pitch for the Vodafone business. I don't believe it was used in the pitch it just reflects the turmoil of the process. Air New Zealand logos make up the waves on the sea but the plane represents something else. Maybe the creative team flying an out of control Vodafone plane. The exploding volcano I am sure is Rangitoto Island but once again reflects some sort of turmoil or imminent disaster. The tower could also be a symbol of Vodafone, power or whatever and the dog has to represent a once frequented pizza place on Ponsonby Road called One Red Dog. I can't explain why the dog is grey but pizza is the life blood for creatives during an agency pitch and helps them survive. Vodafone brand colour is red so I think the last thing they wanted was to be seeing any more red. Especially from their food source at the time.

I don't believe they won the pitch which might be a good guess when you look at this painting of the turmoil.

Anyway I guess now that I have told the story it doesn't seem to be so bad to share it as blip. Hope you like my painting more than my blip for today.
