Beachcombing
Well Easter Sunday didn’t dawn any sunnier than yesterday, annoyingly, but I decided to go for my beach walk anyway. Started at Gullane and had a good walk up and down the whole length, listening to Still Lives all the way which I was enjoying. Dithered about next thing to do and nearly went to a garden centre to get things to redo the window boxes but then the sun started to peep through so I decided to walk Portobello beach too since I haven’t been there for so long. Continued listening as I walked, and enjoyed a king prawn roll at the Shrimp Shack that I’ve been wanting to try for a while, sitting on the beach wall, listening to the book and willing the clouds to clear.
Lovely to get the fresh air, and the exercise. I was pleased to do 7 miles in the end, then came home to chill out a bit. Watched some episodes of the new series about Julia Childs on Sky Atlantic…. perhaps not quite as good as the Meryl Streep film but still entertaining. I got all the ironing done then had some chilli (with chocolate in the sauce…my only chocolate all day!) with a baked potato for supper.
