WITH A SONG IN MY HEART

By lizzie_birkett

Teeny Weeny!

I’ve been working in the garden since 9am and came in at 5.30pm.
In my head I still think I can do it but I am exhausted now and I have an achey back. However I got everything done that I wanted/needed to do.
I moved the 2 big carrot tubs that I had only just put in place yesterday and half filled with stones and compost/sand mix. I realised today that they would be better in the next bed along - that was hard work! Then I dug up the raspberry canes and blackcurrant bush that I had planted 3 weeks ago and but them where I had put the carrot tubs yesterday! Phew, talk about planning ahead - I didn’t!
I potted on the pepper plants, tomatoes and cucumber and courgettes. I've left them outdoors with fleece over them. Fingers crossed!
I did have a few breaks sitting on the bench in the sun and my face is hot and red now - silly me!

When I was looking for broken pots to put in the bottom of the plant pots I saw this tiny snail. Normally I collect slugs and snails in a bucket and take them for a walk up the track to relocate them but I didn’t have the heart, it is so cute!

I have a bee in my bonnet about Dandelions now so came up with another short poem while I was sitting in the sun.

You Need Me!

I may not be a daffodil
I may not be a rose
I may not be pretty apple blossom
But without me and the bees
There’d be none of those.

Time for Gentleman Jack. I fell asleep just before the end last night so I’ll need to watch that bit again.
Good night ;-) x
