Would you walk across this field????

Whilst walking on one of our favourite local walks last year, we came across this sign. There were cows and a bull visible in the field. I was persuaded by by fellow walkers that it would be quite safe to cross but ‘not to look at the bull’ . We crossed safely but to be honest, I was terrified!
Tonight we once again walked that way, the sign was still up but no livestock to be seen. Once again we crossed and I still felt uneasy. It is a public right of way. I think the farmer keeps the sign up regardless of there being a bull or not, possibly to deter walkers.
All things being considered, I don’t think I will venture that way again, which is a shame!! :( :(
