A golden strip.

A quiet day at home for me. B was coaching athletics this morning and R called in on her way home from open water swimming. The weather was warm and so we were able to enjoy coffee in the garden. Olive has gone home after her short holiday.

The birds in the garden were pleased to see her go and the feeders being restocked. When Olive is in residence it’s not safe to fill them as she hoovers up the scattered seeds …..not good news for her sensitive tummy.

Our blackbird has been in good voice and a pair of wood pigeons are sussing out the old nest in the tree. They do need to do a bit of refurbishment to make it safe if they plan to use it.

The blip is a new sighting of oilseed rape growing near the sports field. I remember first seeing it in Essex back in the late ‘80’s, and experiencing the sniffles and sneezing that the golden flowers caused.
