Soaking in the sun

I was in a dress and heels this morning when I turned the car around when I passed the pond this morning. I never saw a turtle in this pond before, and I have lived in this neighborhood since 1994. I had my camera with me, but not the right lens, so this is pretty cropped. My heels were sinking into the mud as I walked around the pond and a man who was walking his dog asked me if I was taking a photo of the turtle. He said that they have been gone for a while. He said some years back someone was stealing the turtles and there eggs and selling them to China!
