The Old Joint Stock Pub and Theatre
This fine building in Birmingham's Temple Row West dates from 1864 and was designed by Julius Alfred Chatwin. It was originally the Birmingham Joint Stock Bank but was taken over by Lloyds Bank in 1889.
It is a Grade II listed building. In 1997 it was converted into a pub by the Fullers brewery. In 2006 the brewery financed the opening of a pub theatre on the first floor.
I have not tried the theatre yet, but I have been in the pub several times and enjoyed some fine Fullers ales.
I blipped another of Chatwin's buildings on 24th September last year.
