Up High on Pwll Du

It was the third day of the JK International Orienteering Weekend and today was the long distance event.  I made a significant error going to no. 2 but after that it was pretty much okay navigation, just hard going over tussocks and with plenty of climb, including on the grassed slag heaps of this former industrial, mining area.

Tony was reserve on the Jury today so he had to stay till the final competitor was in, so I took my camera bag and went up to the slag heaps near the finish and positioned myself so I could capture the orienteers ploughing upwards to the controls.
