Independent Exeter

I remember being so cross when Starbucks opened up opposite the fantastic, independent and local Boston Tea Party coffee shop in Exeter. So it is a great delight to me to see this shop to let.

And as an epigrapher, it makes me think of the removal of bronze lettering from public buildings to melt down after the fall of Rome. Does this mark the end of American hegemony? Or is that a bit of a grand interpretation? Perhaps it's just the independence of the people of Exeter. Anyway, great.
