Between fen and mountains

These irises grow just outside our gates in the drive leading to our house. They seem to get better each year. The morning was busy. I went down to the market and called in at the dentist on behalf of Mrs TT for an appointment. I was back in time to have a meeting with the man who is providing an estimate to replace our leaking veranda. Although it will be quite expensive, we have decided to go ahead with the project as the room is too cold to use in winter and too hot in summer. The new products, with better insulation and blinds, should allow us to use this area of the house with the best views for most of the year. In the afternoon, the tennis lesson was cancelled but one of the players suggested that he and I get a game in before the arrival of the rain which we easily managed. It was then on to French conversation and then more bell ringing as there were still some visitors who wanted to ring and they needed the local ringers to help out. I have now received the photos and video for the sale of the Villa Delphina, one of the most notable period buildings in the village. The owner wants me to help him market it in the UK and I have agreed. The villa is quite historic and was used as headquarters for the German military during the war and is being sold furnished with all its Belle Époque furnishings. It is currently being run as an upmarket bed and breakfast.
