Male Mute Swan

A late afternoon walk around the Loch in the sunshine.
There seem to be less birds on the water this year than normal, a few mallards, a small group of tufted ducks, a couple of moorhens and the pair of swans. The female was on the nest at one end of the loch and the male was tucked up resting at the seating area at the other end of the loch. We met a former neighbour who is predicting the cygnets will be hatched on May 16th, we will see!
