Trains, trains and trains

An afternoon/evening of travelling today as we make our way back over to Tokyo from Hiroshima.

We spent some time in the Peace Memorial Museum in Hiroshima this morning, looking over the permanent exhibit around the history of Japan at war, lead up to and aftermath of the A-Bomb. It is quite frank when discussing both sides, concentrating on the horror of the device and the need to be rid of atomic weaponry. To say it was an easy morning would be very wide of the mark.

Then to the station to pick up the Sakura Shinkansen to Osaka, changing to a Hikari to Tokyo, then the Yamanote line to Shimbashi and finally on to the Yurikamome to Daiba. And check in, relax. Beautiful view looking back across the harbour to the city. It's nice to be back in Tokyo, we're looking forward to some fun stuff the next few days.
