Summer Days
This scene evokes thoughts of cream teas, ice cream and a late evening stroll by the lake as the warm sun dips over the horizon . Not so, this is Windermere on a bright but very cold afternoon. The St. George Cross is doing its best to stay as one with its pole and the solitary sheep on the hill turns its back to the wind and munches on. Apart from a spec of a seagull, there is no other sign of life, just as it was on the open upper deck of the Swan as she made her way back to Bowness. I was the only one up there!
