Unexpected

I spent the afternoon with V and Harry yesterday - quite a rare treat. I admired a new necklace V was wearing and it was a present to mark Harry's second birthday (the end of babyhood as V sees it).

Then, from out of her bag she produced a little box for me and inside it was this little necklace. It is the imprint of Harry's finger preserved in silver! V's is similar but in a heart shape. Her friend is a designer jeweller and she made them specially. I think it's a lovely idea and so individual. So I now have Harry's fingerprint close to my heart!

It was such a thoughtful present made even more memorable because V gave it to me, not on a birthday or a particular day but just because I'm a 'special Grammy'. You can probably imagine that I will treasure it always.
