Bell Pols House

A visit to Auchindrain Museum today on this very wild and windy day. This is Bell a'Phuills house named after Isabella McCallum who used to live here. She died in 1915.

Auchindrain museum lies on the Lochgilphead Inverarary Road and is the most complete surviving example of a historic township. This house was re thatched last year using local rushes and it will be redone every year. Next time I may try and get some pics of the thatching process. The museum has been in disrepair for many years so it is good to see something happening here. I look forward to seeing all their plans come to fruition in the next few year.

and the cafe is good too. If you want to visit or know more info here is the link
