Leafy lane

Dad used to talk about leafy lane jobs being a job that you got after your big career to while away the twilight days.  I think that post naval retirement in your 50s that was very much a thing.  My twilight days seem a bit busy.

Worked from home which was good for the gardening front, I cut back a Penstemon before breakfast and planted out some seedlings that arrived. At lunchtime I walked, listening to a podcast that fed into one of our projects.  This is a view of what Woody and I call Holly Lane which I haven’t walked for a while as it was comprehensively blocked by a tree but it’s been cleared.  The bluebells on this little stretch are beautiful and eternal.

Dinner hyper local at our neighbour’s house.   Evening dominated by an aggressive loud guest with let’s say opposing political views.  His wife was… serene and seemed relaxed about the conversation.
