Happy Earth Day!

My son made a belated birthday request to go to Wagamama (which apparently means ‘self-indulgence’) for lunch and I saw this outside. These seem to be popping up all over the place at the moment and it seemed fitting for today... even though some people are doing their best to destroy our beautiful planet, which is ridiculous. It's not as if we've got anywhere else to go, is it?

It's also Stephen Lawrence Day. Most 'days' dedicated to people whose lives - or deaths - have had a profound impact on society are set on their birthdays but Stephen's tragic story is commemorated on the day he died. As his mother Doreen - once just an 'ordinary' mum, now Baroness Lawrence - said, 'It will be a day for all disadvantaged sections of society, for everyone who has suffered prejudice or injustice.'
