Stepping Stones

Our walk started in Whitewell in the Forest of Bowland.  The first challenge was to cross the River Hodder by way of 42 stepping stones.  P jumped across like a mountain goat whereas I, being of a more anxious disposition, took my time.

The walk should have been four miles but ended up nearer to six miles with stony paths and steep ascents.  However, the view over the Hodder Valley was well worth the climb and the aching limbs at the end.
