Flower Friday - Leftovers

It seems like there was some kind of celebration down near the pier yesterday judging by this wreath. I searched the internet and could only find a single entry about a ceremony in 2014 that honored the "heroic deed" of three cadets from the Naval School in Veracruz during the 1914 invasion by the United States. There was no mention of these three on subsequent searches of "U.S. invasion of Veracruz", but I did get lot more of the history behind the invasion and six month occupation. I am not certain why we, on the other side of the country, were marking this day, but it did provide for a flower Friday blip one day later.
