St George’s Day

Gosh this dragon is scary !!! A detail from St George and the dragon by Paolo Uccello 1470.. one of the earliest Italian paintings on canvas in the National Gallery.
Good news ….after he is wounded by St George …the princess tames the dragon by putting a girdle around his neck !!!
Good to see the National back to more normal times:-))
