Seventh Heaven

Went out after lunch. Walked to West-Cliff, via feeding the goats. Then hopped on a bus to
Westbourne and wandered round the shops, before taking another bus to the large Tesco.

Had 2 flat whites for the princely sum of £7.10 – what??? Not long ago they were about £5 for 2. Checked the menu and listed at £3.30 each - must’ve added 50p on for my Oaty milk.

Think we’ll be forgo (some) café culture and indulge at home instead. Everything is getting so expensive, heating and petrol –and see my BT broadband shot up this month. These increases are already and will continue to affect the retail trade.

Having had this moan, I then couldn’t resist treating myself to the luxury of lovely fat white asparagus from the Westbourne Grocer. Rarely see them here and then can be old and woody. Had half for dinner tonight and will have the rest tomorrow evening.

Made a Moroccan vegetable tagine with saffron rice for dinner. Not bad, but need to research some French recipes to improve. Was too ‘soupy’. Enough left for 2 more dinners (Mr B of course won’t touch it).
