Maori...
…………………...……Kō
Late last month a new library opened in our community. It’s a smart building, light and airy and filled with a good selection of books - and a wonderful selection of art.
The art co-ordinator said more than twenty artists have contributed to the more than 24 works of art featured in this new building.
My blip features the footrest of a Maori ko - a traditional tool used for digging. The intricate carving of the two pieces adorning a wall in the larger meeting room show superb craftsmanship and beauty.
Thank you for the comments, stars and hearts for my previous blip.
