The Stoop

I’m sure you know by now that Mr C has a season ticket for Quins RFC and goes to every home game with his rugby wife, Emma.  Emma celebrates her 50th birthday next week and decided to book a box to celebrate.  The box holds 10 people and I was included in the invite along with her mum and dad and two other couples that I vaguely remember from her and her wife’s wedding a couple of years ago.  Her mum has dementia but seemed to enjoy herself and was fascinated by the planes that you constantly see after just having taken off from Heathrow

In all honesty I wasn’t particularly looking forward to the afternoon but I have to say I really enjoyed it.  You have a constant supply of drinks. Soft, alcoholic or tea/coffee served by your own waitress that is allocated to your box for the whole afternoon.  Hot food … hmm not great,  followed by a tray of small cakes. Then it was time to watch the match itself.  It was against Leicester who are top of the league and what a great game it was, Quins winning 26-20.

If you tweet photos of yourself there is a chance it comes up on the board at half time.  Both the one of Mr C and I and another of Mr C, Emma and the mascot made it up on to the board (top photos on screen).  She also got a birthday mention and was absolutely delighted to receive a signed rugby ball organised by Mr C.

All in all a jolly good day.
