Where people matter
My first Turning Point Scotland Board meeting followed an induction session today.
I was impressed with the organisation, its Chief Exec and Chairman in particular.
The charity works with many diverse groups of people with very different needs-learning disability, substance misuse, mental health issues, homelessness, autism, Huntingdon's disease, Early onset dementia and Aquired brain injury as well as those who find themselves in the criminal justice system.
It is a values led organisation, similar to the one I left last year, and I really look forward to making some service visits to see the work first hand.
"Back in May 2011 I was homeless and in a detox centre and had nothing. Today I have lots of lovely things in my life. That's because I was prepared to change and listen and do the deal. Recovery is great"
