Course in Swimming.
There was more Saharan dust on just one side of my car this morning left there by what looked like the briefest of showers - the pattern of the big ploppy raindrops marked out by the red dust. Strange thing is that it was only on the side of the car facing North which is not where the Sahara lies.
Walked Ginny along the beach and she still likes to pick up oyster shells - she'll choose a favourite and sticks with that one when I throw it for her. I always make sure the shell is clean and there is no rotting remnant of oyster to upset her.
This group on the beach, clad in neoprene, were receiving instruction on surviving cold water swimming I think or perhaps it was the first lesson on what to do as a beginner if you fall off a paddle board. Just out of sight one of their number was already in the water demonstrating the new advice not to panic and flounder about but outstretch your arms and float on your back and r e l a x. Sound advice but it is supposed to happen immediately and not after you have taken down a lungful of freezing water by gasping in shock at your predicament. Easily said, hard to do I would guess. Hope I never have to see how well I would manage.
