Pouring a floor

It is 3 weeks since I last visited the site of the new Science block at school. Not surprisingly there has been considerable progress in that time. The reinforcements for the floor slab are almost complete (on top of a layer of insulation and porous polystryrene which can absorb heave in the clay soil). Today they were pouring concrete into the first half of the slab, using this long concrete pump which stretched over the whole length of the site.

It won't be long now before the building starts rising above ground level.
