A celebration

Today was the twins' second birthday party and a good time was had by all.  Sam and Max got lots of gifts they really seemed to like and we sang "Happy Birthday" to them before cutting the cake.  Sam was less interested in eating the cake than in the little Elmo cart on top of it.  The boys' paternal grandfather gave them each a jack-in-the-box, as shown in the Extras.  From me they received dinosaurs and a very soft stuffed ferret and snowy owl; it's so hard to decide what to give them, so I'm happy that they really seemed to like my gifts.  Given all the excitement, the twins were pretty well behaved on the whole. I can't wait till I can see them again next Sunday. (Sam is the one in the polka-dot shirt.)
