Trying Something New

Not sure why, but I bought a four pack of 16 by 20 inch black gessoed canvases. And then I ignored them, until today. Wasn’t exactly sure how to work with them and the other materials I’ve been using lately. I decided to start by painting a pattern with Venetian red, white, gold and off white gesso. That’s what you see here. I’ll finish this by painting and drawing on top of this.
