Flower Friday (Friday 22nd April 2022)
All four garden Japanese acers are pretty much out now. They're all quite small, this is the largest. I took shots of all of them but didn't capture them as I wanted, so I'll try again. This was the most successful attempt.
With thanks to BikerBear for Flower Friday.

Shane Fenton and the Fentones - I'm A Moody Guy (1961)
This is another record I'd forgotten that Robert Plant played on his Radio 6 Music show. Bernard Jewry had careers as two different persona that he had taken over from someone else. The first of these was Shane Fenton when the original, Johnny Theakston, unexpectedly died just as their star was rising. Bernard Jewry, who was their roadie, took over at the request of the mother of his schoolfriend Johnny Theakston and I'm A Moody Guy was their debut single.
At the time all bands were in thrall to the Shadows and the Fentones were no exception, the single even having been written by Jerry Lordan, who wrote several of the Shadows' early releases, including Apache. They had a highly regarded drummer in Bobby Elliot who went on to join the Hollies.
Later on Peter Shelley had a record called My Coo Ca Choo released under the name Alvin Stardust (a cash-in on Ziggy Stardust) but chose not to assume the character and called in Bernard Jewry to take over. After miming to the record on TV as it rose up the charts he assumed all vocal duties for subsequent Alvin Stardust records.
One of his sons is the drum and bass producer Adam F.
