Fife adventure
Day 2 of our little mini-break to Fife and we started at Falkland Palace. Sadly the brighter skies teased us for much of the morning but the heavier cloud prevailed for much of the day.
Then as were a bit early for the second of our Scotland's Garden Scheme visits, we took a detour to visit Balmerino Abbey (last visited when I was a Brownie over half a century ago!!) a ruin overlooking the Tay. In the field nearby there were a couple of pheasants shouting the odds.
In need of further coffee and cake, we happened upon Manna cafe in Newport on Tay which I can highly recommend - excellent fruit cake. Then on to the main event, Willowhill Garden for which C has bought me a season ticket. A garden developed from scratch over the past 20 years, there is lots of amazing colour and plenty of inspiration...and of course the enticement of plants for sale which I couldn't resist.
I'm looking forward to our return visits later in the year to see how the garden changes with the seasons.
