Petersfield
After a morning of chores we decided to head out for the afternoon. First stop was Butser Hill. You can walk to the top or, as we did, drive most of the way and then walk the final bit and then around the flat summit. It was quite breezy but the 360 degree views were wonderful - right down to the coast to the south and across to the South Downs to the east. I managed to pick up some clumps of wool left by the grazing sheep, which I will add to my felting collection after washing.
From Butser it was just a short hop to Petersfield, which is an interesting town with a pleasant town square. We had coffee and cake in the sunshine and then perused the second-hand bookshop. The shop is one of those traditional emporiums that has an eclectic collection of books and ephemera arranged in countless small interconnected rooms. I could have spent hours but the time was ticking on the car park.
There were many blip opportunities on our outing but my favourite photograph is of a model that was standing in one of the bookshop rooms. He is presumably wearing a poppy as today is Anzac Day. A nice touch, I thought.
