The Clash

Clashing Kittiwakes on Bempton Cliffs this afternoon.

The gannets were nest building - pulling up the grasses on the towering chalk cliff tops for their nests whilst the guillemots lined the ledges in a precarious fashion over looking the North Sea.

Breezy and with a huge wind chill it was still great to walk the paths with everyone there hoping to see the Black Browed Albatross which has been seen on and off lately. Today it was not to be. 'Thought to be the only albatross of its kind in the Northern hemisphere ...,' it has a wingspan of 8ft and I really was desperate to get a sighting as I've always been fascinated by albatross.

Staying with mum and dad with things to sort out there.
