Whitby Abbey

Whiby's claim to fame is its Abbey, established in 657. It was here in 664 at the Synod of Whitby that the date of Easter was established.
Bram Stoker was inspired by the ruins to write the novel Dracula which in turn has inspired the regular Goth festivals that take place here. There were still a few people wandering around today from the weekend's Goth gathering.
Apparently people still ask where Dracula's gravestone is, even though he is fictitious. It's this one....
