Faceless Selfie
I had such a nice day today. It was overcast, cold (49F) and blustery, and I loved it because I'm finally feeling well enough to enjoy it. Went for a long walk, and while I was walking my sister called & asked if I'd like to meet her for lunch.(yes) A little later my cousin called. He and his wife had just come back from California, where they spend the winter, and he wanted to see how I was doing and did I need anything......so very nice of him. My sister and I met halfway and had lunch at the Chancery; spent 2 1/2 hours laughing between bites of food.
For the first time in months I looked to see what the challenge of the day was.....MM's "Faceless Selfie", so I went to my favorite spot--the beach along Lake Michigan--to take some photos. Thanks to Carolina for hosting. I put two photos in the extras because I've never seen these birds along the shoreline before. The brightly colored ones look like avocets, but I thought those were more "Southern", ocean birds, and I have no clue on the brown ones. Maybe young ones? I was surprised that neither cluster of birds was in the least bothered by me as I took photos, while the "regulars" who are ALWAYS there--the gulls, ducks and geese--all went airborne when I got too close. Go figure. I'm sure someone out there can ID them for me......like LesTension.) :)
