Pond flowering
I had a busy day on the plot yesterday while the asbestos removal people were there - there was a lot to do e.g. clearing beds, harvesting spinach, lambs lettuce and radishes, planting out chamomile seedlings, sowing beans outside and watering (well over 100 watering cans in total!).
It would have been easy to miss the first flowers of Limnanthes douglasii (poached egg plant) by the pond. Luckily I check my tadpoles daily (some have back legs!) so I spotted the gorgeous yellow blooms around the edges.
The pond always starts out yellow in the early spring, then the pinks and reds and purples come later in the season.
