I woke up at the hotel in Cumbria to a sound that l was not familiar with, what could it be? On looking out the window l saw a market being set up. The flower man was giving his plants a quick water and l liked the scene, I went down and bought some sweetpea plants off him for the allotment - half the price of London!
Just after we set off with 300 miles to go l got a phone call from our older son, the school he is deputy head at has a snap inspection (OFSTED) starting today, his wife is on a business trip in India can l stay for 2 nights, pick up and take kids to school pleeeeease. A big ask from that distance but got there in time and a plan has been worked out.
Just before l went to pick the kids up I opened the door of the 2 year 2 month old freezer to find everything was defrosted - the machine is kerput! I am having to order a new one, luckily we have another small freezer to keep us going but some food is going to have to be binned. So much for a relaxing holiday!
