Vatican Museum and Sistine Chapel, Roma, Italy

Golly.

If you go to Roma for the first time, make sure you experience the Vatican Museum and Sistine Chapel... they are quite simply breathtaking and will be one of the most memorable visual delights of your life.

It was certainly extremely busy on what was a gorgeously hot day but pleasantly, it wasn't the tourist nightmare I was expecting. I had prepared myself for a day of queuing, jostling and being rushed along by museum and chapel staff purely for the objective of seeing the Museum and Chapel - but it was entirely the opposite.

Despite the restriction imposed to deny photos of the Sistine Chapel, I managed to get in a few sneaky-looking-in-the-opposite direction ones to bring home but to post one of those on here would be way too predictable. Tempting though it was!!!

The Sistine Chapel is so much MORE than the famous ceiling painted by Michaelangelo. It is spectacularly huge and the surroundings are completely beautiful and awesome. There are endless corridors of beauty and richness in many forms...

Well worth the 13 Euros - I promise!!!

For once, it was actually really difficult to pick a blip to post for this date, as I had so many good ones (well, I should think so too for circa 150 blips over the course of the day!)...

This mosaic floor detail is from the Vatican Museum and that trainer'd foot at the upper left of the image is my Mum's...!!!

OOOPs - sorry!!! I tell a lie - I didnt post that one - this one is of a bronze statue of Christ and lambs in front of an open window at the Museum with the Vatican Gardens behind...

For anyone who would like to be bored with endless images of Roma trees, architecture, statues and piazzas, I will post the photos link on here very soon...
