Bus Pass Walk
A lovely start to the day with the sight of a duck and her brood of 10 cute ducklings in friend H’s front yard (extras). Everyone was worried that they would wander into the main road where most drivers go far too fast. Corinthian and I had to leave H and her neighbours to sort things out as we were on the way to catch our bus. Bus was late as seems the norm these days, but 5 of us set out for Gilstead this morning - nice to have AuntieP and B back with us after their fabulous sounding holiday and cruise in the Americas. A walk through Milner Field and back to Bingley along the river and canal, with lots of wild garlic and bluebells on the way. Good reflections in the river and the little boat used as a planter is a sweet memorial to a young lady who sadly drowned in the canal. The Piano Barge is now back above Dowley Gap, so perhaps he has given up on his ambition to travel slowly to London! Refreshments taken in the Loft Cafe - 2 of us tried the Loft Breakfast - Toast, pesto, cheese, tomatoes and poached eggs - tasted good, but far too much so we had to leave some. As P said - next time 1 breakfast and 2 plates! Better photos of the ducklings on Corinthian’s journal:- https://www.blipfoto.com/entry/2965658167804956465
